Flight Journals: Day 8

Flight Journals: Day 8

I'm not bad, I know it.

I accidentally helped Olsted do bad things. I didn't know, I promise I didn't know.

I'm not bad though. I didn't do it on purpose. I trust him, and I was wrong.

There are three spies in the academy...

I don't know who to trust.

Iron drinks magic...

I would never do that. I would never hurt the people love.

Iron in a soul could end the world.

I would never hurt anyone. I don't know why they would say that... I would never hurt the people I care about.

Iron did not slow mana... it destroyed it.

The air was cold. The crickets in the other world chirping rhythmically.

I would never do this, I would never hurt people. I don't care what the guards say, I would never hurt them, I would never hurt her...

...

...

was she a spy? Was it all just an act?

Three spies...

Three of them sitting in the cave.

It couldn't be them, not really, not possible. Zam and Graecie were his friends, and Sun Guard... Sun Guard was so central to the Academy.

But they WERE THERE. IN THE CAVE. Right after he found out that that cave was filled with Storm Raven spies not days before... the place where they had rescued some of the other students that had been taken.

If it was just that, maybe he could figure it out. Maybe they were just lost, or looking for others, maybe Zam was sad and just trying to get back to the cave. Maybe they were back at the scene of the crime.

Not again, I can't be lied to again. I can't be USED again.

Iron drinks magic...

Why is my magic OF iron then... of what is supposedly poison to mana itself.

I don't want to break the world, I don't want to... I don't want to kill... I don't... I don't want to.

...

...

...

I want to help people.

A guard's Iron could protect. Iron in a soul could end the world.

I don't want to end the world. I don't want to hurt people... not again.

I won't be used again.

I can't be used again.

I don't want to hurt my friends.

...

...

...

I don't think I can go back.

A nail in a pocket made spells stumble. A horseshoe above a door turned blessings slow and thin...

...

...

... a gear can break the entire machine. A knife can cut to the bone.

Iron could end the world.
